Generation Z has a different relationship with the environment than past generations

Younger Americans have grown up with more exposure to the effects of global warming than their parents and grandparents. Because of this, it's not surprising young adults care about global warming more than baby boomers for example. According to a 2018 Gallup analysis, 70% of adults aged 18 to 34 say they worry about global warming compared to 56% of those aged 55 or older. Even within political parties, younger generations are more concerned about this issue. Young republicans are more likely to address the global warming problem and acknowledge it is human caused than older republicans. This indicates there is less political polarization with this issue among younger people. It is also said younger Americans tend to tilt more on the democratic side, so it's only expected to adopt the democratic view on global warming. Another aspect of the high awareness on environmental issues with young adults is that younger people are more on social media which has high exposure tot  these issues. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. has thousands of posts, memes, and comments about every climate change protest occurring and ignorant comment Trump has made on the subject.

Comment: As a young adult myself, i believe we grew up with these issues thrown in our face and being publicized on every media outlet, it hard for us to not care about it. No matter where we scroll on our feed or who we talk to, climate chnage is always on the forefront of news and conversations. This makes also adopt the concern. That doesn't mean we always act on it, but it does mean we support any action to improve and help relieve the issue. Being Democratic as well influences my perspective heavily on environmental issues and allows me to see others opposing views to be outrageous.
